Testing standards, methods and potential harm reduction for ENDS

ENDS products are being used more regularly as an alternative to the traditional smoking tobacco cigarettes and with the TPD2 directive now fully in place, it is important to ensure that testing standards and methods are met to ensure product safety and compliance.

As electronic nicotine delivery systems are still relatively new to market, having a set of specific standards, which can be universally used, is key to ensuring the safety of devices. It is fundamental that these standards are set and testing methods formulated to give guidance and provide companies with scientifically anaylsed concrete examples.

The session 'Testing standards, methods and potential harm reduction' presented at the inaugural ENDS 2017 aims to aid the conversation on testing standards and methods. With presentations from leading industry experts on a number of factors including challenges of eliquid and vapour analysis, the value of collaboration in the development of ecigarette test methods, the assessment of novel tobacco products and more - this session will help drive the industry forward.

The session will also cover potential harm reduction with a presentation on science and evidence to demonstrate potential harm reduction in ecigarettes, and a panel discussion on 'Tobacco harm reduction and negativity towards ecigarettes'.

Speakers in the session include representatives from British American Tobacco, Eos Scientific, CORESTA and Altria Client Services.
